I'm a senior technical artist at Supermassive Games, formerly a game art lecturer and level lead at Solent University. I’ve shipped 7 titles since I began working in the industry in 2010. I’m an Unreal specialist with 8 years of experience in the engine as well as over 15 years of experience with Maya & Photoshop. I also use HLSL, Houdini & Python. I have two postgrads, and have published several academic papers in the field.
I first worked for several indie studios from 2010-16, during which we shipped 5 titles in a range of formats. I was then a lecturer from 2016-22, wrote Solent University's curriculum for technical art modules, and shipped The Missing Few (2020) as lead artist on the side. I led games research projects among the academics at the university including an HCI study for which an original UE5 title was developed, Passage Infinity (2022). For my service as an academic leader I was awarded the title of senior fellow (SFHEA), which demonstrates that I can lead a university department. In 2022 I was headhunted by Supermassive Games as a senior TA, and worked on AAA titles. I was responsible for materials and blueprints, managed the 3D pipeline and associated standards, and developed specialised systems for use in environments, characters and VFX. |
